The nostalgia was short-lived though since there wasn't anything new added with this feature and the whole broken feature that happened in Outlast was absent kept it stale and done before. Setting's serve as more unsettling and grotesque than atmospheric and eerie. So the story itself is a great idea since it shed's light on who sent Miles the email at the start of Outlast and being around when things start getting messed up within the asylum, personally though the story felt a bit recycled upon what the original game had and some unnecessary story moments in the game that I felt were not needed. Waylon get's caught by his employer's and thus get's forcibly committed to mount massive asylum and forced into the experiments with the morphogenic engine until things go awry and we pick up the camera to begin our lovely stroll. So the story is simple enough, you play as Waylon Park who is a software engineer working at Mount massive for the murkoff corporation, and after being involved with some of the experiments performed with the morphogenic engine cannot let things continue so he sends off an email to ‘Miles Upshur’, who is the protagonist of the original game. When I first played outlast I was a nervous wreck between jump scares and chase scenes, so god knows why I played ‘Outlast: Whistleblower’ but at the end of the day it's nice to get new experiences from games, even if I instantly regret that decision afterwords.

So I ask myself this question every damn time I pick a horror indie game to play "What the actual hell am I doing?" there is never really an answer I just play them without really thinking about what's gonna happen.
